Nicolas Taylor

Choir Director

He/Him/His

Nicolas Taylor is the choir director at St. John’s. He has a BA from West Liberty University in music education with Pre-K through Adult certifications in band, choral, and orchestral music as well as a minor in theater. He has served in various roles as a music educator including Secretary for Vocal Music in the West Virginia Music Educators Association and Regional Chair for the American Choral Directors Association. He also currently teaches at the Conservatory of Piano and the Hilliard Music Academy. He is very active in music and theater and has performed and conducted hundreds of programs in the United States and abroad.

In his free time, he loves to go to restaurants and pretend he knows what he’s talking about with regard to things like his palette and the bouquet of a nice petite syrah. He is also an avid gamer (both video games and board games) but since turning 40 avoids anything competitive so as to not develop a heart condition. Most of the time he’d prefer to be on his couch with his wife, Madison, and his cat, Thalia.
