Stephen Sollars

Organist

He/Him/His

Stephen Sollars has been playing piano and organ in church for over 30 years. As a child, he would often play the offertory and shadow the church pianist. In middle school and high school, he began to play for hymns and choir anthems at church, as well as accompanying choirs and musicals in school. In college, he began playing the organ in church more diligently and soon began his career as a church music director. He has served the United Methodist and Episcopal Churches in Columbus, Philadelphia, and Northern Virginia areas since 2007. He graduated from Ohio State in 2008 with a degree in Comparative Studies with a concentration in Religion. He began attending St. John’s in 2016 and soon joined the choir and became the primary substitute organist. He joined the Columbus Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) in 2017 and the Association of Anglican Musicians (AAM) in 2021.

Stephen is an avid board gamer and video gamer and enjoys taking motorcycle rides with his partner, Wes. He can also be found playing in the backyard or taking neighborhood walks with his poodle, Ruby. When not working his day job and not at the church, you can probably find Stephen playing piano for local community theater groups.
