What’s happening with our Journey to Generosity Fall Pledge Program?

Sunday, October 15: DEADLINE for collection of items for our Journey to Generosity outreach projects – Birthday Party Bags for the Worthington Resource Pantry and items for the New Job Bags for CRIS.

The Birthday Party Bags Project will make it possible for the children of our neighbors served by the Worthington Resource Pantry to have a fun birthday party. We still need cake mixes, frosting, candles, birthday plates and napkins, balloons, party favors, stickers, and birthday gift bags to create 50 Birthday Party Bags! Donations can be placed in the labeled bin at the picnic on Sunday.

The New Job Bags Project will serve our refugee and immigrant neighbors who get a job after participating in the Employment and English Language classes at CRIS. We still need COTA bus passes and gasoline gift cards, as well as notepads, lunch bags, water bottles, pocket calendars or planners, to fill 25 New Job Bags, and donations of cash or checks to help buy the nice canvas messenger bags. A weekly bus pass can be purchased at the service desk at Kroger or Giant Eagle for $25. Gas gift cards for $5, $10, or more can be purchased at Speedway and other stations. Mary Bailey will have a secure envelope at the worship service and picnic on Sunday to receive gas gift cards and bus passes, as well as donations of cash or checks to benefit either “Birthday Bags” or “New Job Bags.” Other donation items can be placed in the labeled bin at the picnic.

Sunday, October 15: Worship at 11 am on the Village Green followed by a Parish Picnic – giving thanks for God’s generosity, celebrating our Journey to Generosity as a parish family, and inviting others in the community to join us.

Thursday, October 19: Pledge forms for 2018 will be mailed to all parishioners – watch your mailbox!
