St. John’s Parish Elections for Junior Warden (2 year term) and four new Vestry Members (3 year term) will be held on Sunday February 11th and 18th. The Polls will be open in the Atrium for at least 15 minutes before and after each service.
Results of the election will be announced and become effective at the Annual Meeting to be held on Sunday, February 25th .
To be eligible to vote for Vestry, the By-laws state: “All Active Members of the parish, ages 16 or older shall be eligible to vote.” Any Member who is a Communicant in Good Standing and who has joined this congregation by means of a letter of transfer from another congregation or by otherwise evidencing an intent to be an ongoing participant in the life of this Parish shall be considered an Active Member of St. John’s. It is expected that all Active Members will attend church regularly, financially support the Parish, regularly participate in at least one ministry or church activity outside of worship, participate in spiritual growth opportunities such as Christian education, participate in service projects or outreach projects; and demonstrate compassionate acceptance of others. Absentee Ballots may be cast by voting members of the parish who are: college students other than those attending local colleges, members of the Armed Forces, members confined because of age, illness or other infirmities; and members who will be out of the Central Ohio area at the time of the election. An absentee ballot may be obtained by contacting the Church office. The ballot must be physically in the church office no later than Noon, Wednesday, the 14th of February, 2018.
