St. John's Episcopal Church is located in Worthington, Ohio, a
suburb of Columbus and a parish in the Diocese
of Southern Ohio which is a part of The
Province of the Midwest (Province V) of the national Episcopal Church USA
(ECUSA), a part of the worldwide Anglican
Communion. The resources listed
below are but a subset of available resources both on the Web and in and around
our village. They have been selected in
order to help the novice as well as the expert Web surfer who is interested in
learning more about the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion.

The Episcopal Community Services Foundation was created as a resource

Forward Movement is
an official, non-profit agency of The Episcopal Church. Since 1935 we have
published the quarterly devotional Forward Day by Day, as well as pamphlets,
booklets, and books to encourage and nourish people in their lives of prayer
and faith. Our mission is to reinvigorate the Episcopal Church day by day.
LIBRARIES
One of the nation's
foremost library systems, the Columbus Metropolitan Library incorporates 22 branch
locations as well as close collaborative relationships with other area
library systems (including Worthington).
Theological Consortium of Greater Columbus
(TCGC)
A consortium of the libraries belonging to the seminaries in
the Columbus area including the Methodist Theological School, the Pontifical College Josephinum,
Trinity Lutheran Seminary
and Bexley Hall Episcopal Seminary. The Consortium's
library holdings number 400,000 book volumes, over 700 current periodical
subscriptions, a large collection of audio-visual items, as well as
bibliographic and full-text databases for theological research and teaching. It
is one of the largest such collections in the Midwest.

Educational Institutions
The School of Theology at Sewanee, TN
The School of
Theology at The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, is a leader in
Episcopal education that prepares priests and lay leaders for ministry in
witness and service to the Triune God.
In 1872, the first Sewanee-trained Episcopal priest was ordained. By
1878, the School of Theology was formally organized as a seminary of the
Episcopal Church.
The General Theological Seminary, New York,

General Seminary is
a vibrant community in the heart of New York City dedicated to theological education.
Founded in 1817 as the first seminary of the Episcopal Church, General
cherishes its history and traditions while enthusiastically embracing the
challenges of preparing leaders for today's church.
Bexley Hall Seminary, Columbus,
OH
Bexley Hall is one
of the eleven seminaries of the Episcopal Church. Experience spirituality, discernment,
and intentional formation of ecclesial personhood
in the liberal Anglo-Catholic tradition of Anglicanism. Bexley Hall's presence
in Ohio was re-established in 1998, in association with Trinity Lutheran
Seminary. The two seminaries share faculty, facilities and resources. The Episcopal Church and the Evangelical
Lutheran Church in America are in full communion and share worship, clergy, and
mission.
Living as an
Episcopalian Parishioner
This site affords an
opportunity for busy people to participate in Morning and Evening prayer services
each day through the internet. It is the work of The Mission of St. Clare (the
patron saint of the electronic media). Rite I and Rite II

any others and nearly always follow the
Revised Common Lectionary readings. Lay
Readers/Lectors will find the weekly readings detailed here, including links to the Lessons, Psalms and Gospels from
the Episcopal Lectionary (BCP) and Revised Common Lectionary (RCL).
Another collection of full
text online Lectionary resources for the Episcopal Church, updated every Sunday
night. The NSRV texts follow the Revised
Common, Episcopal, Roman Catholic, Anglican Church of Canada, and Church of
England Lectionaries. (With the
exception of the Psalms, which derive from the 1979 Book of Common Prayer.)
